Hi, I’m Mark Akers, the creator of the Chrondala Calendar.
The idea for the Chrondala Calendar grew out of our own family’s need for an early-learning tool that made sense for kids with different learning styles and abilities.
In our home, this calendar quickly became a breakthrough. Our daughter, who learns differently and sometimes struggles with attention, connected with it right away—and still uses it independently. Our younger son picked up the sequence of days, weeks, months, and seasons, while also learning how time connects to his everyday life.
Bonus for parents: the endless questions of “When is my birthday?” or “How much longer until the holiday?” have stopped. With their own Chrondala Calendars, our kids are in charge of time—and they’re motivated to use it.
Understanding time is a foundation for life skills like planning, organization, and time management—skills that research suggests should be solidified by second grade. Yet with all the demands on schools, teaching this concept is often overlooked.
That’s why we created the Chrondala Calendar: a simple, effective tool that helps kids grasp time without adding extra work for parents or teachers.
We hope it’s as much of a game-changer for your family as it has been for ours.
