I’m Mark Akers, the creator of the Chrondala Calendar.
The concept and design for the Chrondala Calendar grew out of my family’s need for an early-learning solution.
Our house is blessed to have learners with different styles and levels of needs and this calendar works for each child. Our daughter, who deals with attention and learning differences, became engaged instantly with the process of using this tool and independently continues to use it. Our young kids are grasping the sequence of days, weeks, months, and seasons as well as connecting the passage of time to their daily activities!
And, BONUS BENEFIT: Our kids no longer repeatedly ask WHEN holidays, birthdays, or special events take place or how much longer they have to wait for them! Now, TIME IS IN THEIR HANDS since becoming self motivated to use their Chrondala Calendars!
Learning the concept of time is the foundation for the development of numerous crucial life skills such as time management, planning, and organization and is expected to be solidified by second grade. Yet, with the numerous and growing demands on educational institutions, instruction in this area is often lower in priority or not a priority at all.
The Chrondala Calendar is an efficient and simple teaching solution that is intended to improve student performance without adding instruction time to the educator.
